Under Pressure: Thing 7a

OK, I haven’t let the RSS feed have a full week to marinate, but I’m running out of time and we’re supposed to do things in order and I need to go on to wikis SO . . .

I found a bunch of cool sites but for now will only list what seem like meta sites to me, ones I’ll return to because they list so many others I’ll no doubt visit when I’m ready.  One of the big lists that was suggested led me to another list of free resources for teachers.  Another big list led to a promising site for teachers of writing.

Time-consuming but thought-provoking: a series of comments on a post asking what happens to our students when they leave us.  Had they found attempts to use 2.0 technology useful?  Would they continue to use such tech?  Would they return to help us improve/extend our use?  Responses varied widely.

Through my NYT feed, I clicked Maureen Dowd as one of my favorite columnists, then had a great time reading her latest, a twitter exchange between Palin and McClain.  Funny!

A glitch: I seem to have some feeds in Mozilla and others in Google.  I tried exporting from former to latter using advice on Google, but I haven’t made it work yet.  Will try again.

Another glitch: my webmates are as tardy as I am, so I could only read the Thing 7 post by the busiest and most virtuous of our small crew.  I will post a comment for her in a minute.  I shudder to think that the rest of the crew will read my ditherings and then have to think of something polite to say about them!

Next up: wikis!  Should be fun!  And I will keep checking my feeds, promise!
